How much does home backup power cost? Ranges from our catalog

A first-screen way to compare cost across sizes. These are listed prices observed on each product's retrieval date, not quotes.

The short answer

Cost per kWh generally falls as batteries get larger, and cost per running watt falls as generators get larger — but price per unit ignores noise, chemistry, fuel flexibility, weight and warranty, so use it only to shortlist.

Wattstanding calculationPrice per kWh = listed price ÷ (watt-hours ÷ 1,000). Price per watt = listed price ÷ running (generator) or rated (panel) watts. Medians are across published products only; installer-quoted systems are not included.
